According to a new study, taking some vitamins supplements like antioxidants does not appear to slow the upsurge of artery-clogging plaques that may cause heart disease or heart stroke.

The evidence that vitamins do not stop heart attacks, heart strokes or deaths caused by heart disease is supported by studies of 16 clinical trails.

However, clinical trails have failed in the recent years to apply the evidence on antioxidants like vitamin C and E and B vitamins, and researches found that these vitamins may offer some protection against heart disease. Moreover, there are some researches which found that supplements may be risky to heart health.
Dr. Eliseo Guallar an associate professor of epidemiology at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health in Baltimore said: “I think (the outcomes of) those trials have been awesomely negative”. Furthermore, some studies have argued that the vitamins may hold back the sequence of atherosclerosis -- the buildup of plaques on the artery walls that can in the end lead to heart stroke or attack.
The miss of advantage against heart attacks and strokes strength, for example, be the outcome of starting the vitamins too late in the route of atherosclerosis.
To check whether vitamin supplements strength prevent atherosclerosis Dr Guallar and his colleagues shared the results from clinical trials that tested some B vitamins and folic acid, or antioxidant vitamins, such as vitamins E, C and beta-carotene. They used single vitamin supplement in some studies, and a mixture of vitamin supplement in some studies.
The result of the research found that none of the vitamin supplement slowed the sequence of atherosclerosis.
Guallar illustrious, although, the truth that pills do not appear to offer heart protection it does not cancel out the value of diet. However. The nutrients in foods and the great vitamin doses which can be found in pills are basically different.
Dr Guallar advices people to a general healthy lifestyle and, by doing regular exercises and avoid smoking and eating a fair diet rich in fruits, vegetables and complete grains.
He also added: “people who take vitamins to prevent heart disease are wasting their money and harming their body health.
Since long time doctors suggests that people do not rely on vitamins pills to prevent heart stokes and attacks, instead of that they should have the daily needed amount of vitamins from their food, therefore it is recommended to keep a healthy diet to prevent heart stokes and attacks.
