See, nowadays it's more common that people realise that the money is in the list. So you need to consider a couple of things before advertising in ezines.

1 thing you want to realize is that it has no purpose to pay good money to advertise in an ezine with low open rates and readership. This presents us with the first problem because the best just don't accept advertising anymore. Or are very expensive.

This presents another problem. A lot of the lists are sent through emails, in standard email format. Not much gimmicks. And usually they only have ads that they profit from. Simply because it makes them more money.

This doesn't mean that there aren't any good ezines out there you can pay advertising in. The only downside is that usually the lists are just starting to grow and aren't very big. They usually write old style types of ezines with some articles, resources and ads.

If you do find one of the ezines, it's is very often hard to get in. in the normal way that is.

That doesn't mean you can't get an ad in. You need to be creative. Contact the ezine owner, ask them to sign up for your affiliate program and offer them higher commissions, e.g. 75% instead of 50%. Make them feel special.

Notice this: Always read the ezines content before you advertise in one. This is so you can be sure the content is of the highest quality.

Also always ask for proof. They make claims, so let them proof it and back it up with real life stats of open rates, etc.

Classifieds and bottom sponsor ads are a big no, no too. Unless you don't have the funds for more, always try to go for the top sponsor ads or solo ads.

The highest quality ezines can often be found through online networks. This is also because they make sure you get your ads published in highly qualified and targeted ezines.
