Owning several large article directories it amazes me how much time people spend on an article only to see it rejected for various small silly reasons. Mainly this is because often they have not taken a few minutes to read the Submission Guidelines that most of the Article Directories have published on their websites.

Here are a few tips that will guarantee YOUR articles are accepted by them ALL.

Article Content:
This MUST be either written by you, or written "exclusively" for you by a copywriter. It is NOT acceptable to use ANY OTHER article content that is not yours, or one that you have rights to publish!

Article Length:
Most article directories require that the articles that they accept into their directories be of a MINIMUM length.
This will vary from directory to directory, but as a guide it is advisable to make YOUR article at least 500 words in length. That way you will find it acceptable by ALL directories, as far as the length is concerned.

Links:
Links to your website, are normally ONLY ALLOWED in the Resource Box or Authors Details Box. Placing them is ANY other area than these will often mean your article is going to be rejected or deleted, and very often both.

HTML Code:
A large number of Article Directories do not want you to use HTML code in your article, other than in the Resource/Authors Box. One of the reasons is that it can effect the way that your article is displayed. Some do allow you to use some like Bold or Italic, but often it is better to just NOT use it, as it could mean your article is rejected.

Authors Name:
Select an Authors FULL Name, NOT a company, or your website address.
You can use a Pen Name, if you do not want to use your real name, many famous authors already do this. What it does do, is it identifies YOU as the author of the Article.

Title:
Try to select a "unique" Title, you can easily check this out by going onto the Google Search Engine, and by entering your Article Title like this:

"How Do You Guarantee Your Article Is Accepted At Article Directories?" (Note the Speech marks both in front, and behind the article, which makes the Search specific to the article title you plan using only).

If you see many listings on Google with the same title, then make changes to your Title, so it is different to the others.

Do NOT use all Capitals in your Title.

Summary:
Place a few lines here relating to your article. It can be a copy of the first few lines of you article if you wish or a description of your article. Do NOT copy your ENTIRE article into this box, a few lines is enough.

Article Body:
This area is for the main area for your article. Make sure that this, (along with the rest of your article details), are all spelt correctly, have spaces between paragraphs, and generally looks correct when viewed. Many directories have "Preview Article" buttons, so that you can preview it BEFORE you submit to the directory. If it does not look very good, (ie. lay out looks poor), then why would they publish it?

Resource Box:
This area is for YOUR benefit, so make sure that you use it correctly, but more importantly, do NOT abuse it by placing to many links here. It can get you many valuable links back to your website for free, and we are all looking for free ways to increase traffic to our websites!

The number of links allowed here does vary from directory to directory, but if you stick to a MAXIMUM of two links, then you will be ok and accepted by all of the directories.

It is important to remember here that if you are using an un-paid Article Submission service, then they will normally add the website details to your article, which leaves you with only ONE link to place in the Resource/Authors Box if you wish to guarantee your articles acceptance.

Often I see a well written article, but the link is not entered correctly in the Resource Box. The correct way to enter your details is to write something similar to this:

Mike is a well a known author on subjects that relate to Article Marketing, and more interesting articles like this, can be found at his website (A HREF="http://www.yourwebsite.com/") Your Websites Name.(/A) *
* Remember to Replace the ( ) brackets with these < > to display as a link.

Notice that I used a keyword "Article Marketing", which relates to my article, and the HTML code that will display the link correctly.

Keywords:
Most Article Directories will have a space where you can enter the Keywords that RELATE to your article. This is another area that is either not fully understood by many who submit to article directories, or is completely abused.

This is for the Search Engines Bots to identify with your ARTICLE, when they search the various article directories. NOT completely un-related keywords.

Enter here a maximum of six Keywords, remember only select keywords that RELATE to the article subject you are currently submitting. Do NOT send for instance, write an article about "Fishing", and then enter Keywords that relate to "Online Marketing"!

Language:
Sorry about this, but most of the major Article Directories only accept articles in English.

So submitting articles in any other language, usually means that they will probably be deleted.

Finally:
If your intention is to promote your website, then stick to articles about the subject of your website. Become a specialist in your subject, this makes people want to visit your website, because you know what you are talking about.

I hope you have found all of the above information helpful. It is basically very straight forward, and easy to follow. Once you get into the habit of using the correct process, it becomes very easy to duplicate each time you submit your articles to the directories.
