Acne is a complicated problem to deal with and to solve and there is no definite answer as to why it occurs. Finding an effective acne treatment can be difficult since there is no clear understanding as to why it occurs. Stress reduction strategies may be beneficial for those that struggle with acne. Many researchers believe that stress may have an effect on causing and making acne worse.

Here are a few methods you can use to reduce stress:

Method 1: Take Part In A Consistent Exercise Program

Consistently doing exercises like aerobics or weight training can have many great stress reduction benefits and also health and fitness benefits. Perform aerobic exercise around four to five times a week for thirty to sixty minutes a day. You can do the exercises right out of your home by purchasing an inexpensive aerobic exercise equipment like a stair climber or an exercise bike.

If the weather is nice then a brisk walk outside can work just as well. If you have a slightly higher budget then consider getting a recumbent exercise bike as they are very comfortable to use and also quite effective. Joining a gym can also be a great idea, consider taking a friend with you and try to make it fun so you will stick with it long term. Also add in some weight training once a week or so to help keep your muscles strong.

Method 2: Learn Meditation Or Yoga

Meditation can have many positive effects for those that do it regularly including less stress and a greater feeling of well being. What is meditation? The simplest definition could be that it is the quest to attain a quiet state of mind. While performing meditation the primary objective is to produce a silent mind that has as few thoughts as possible.

A quiet mind is the most peaceful mental state and thus the least stressful. A simple way to start meditation is by concentrating on your breathing. All you need to do is put your attention on your breath and simply focus on it as you inhale and then exhale. If you start thinking about other things then simply remind yourself to focus on your breathing again. In time you will get distracted less by external thoughts and it will be easier for you to get to that low stress quiet mental state.

There are a lot of different forms and types of meditation and some are quite complex however this simple breathing exercise can usually be very effective at reducing stress from an overactive mind and hopefully also reducing your acne. Do this exercise for three to five minutes each day or even multiple times a day or whenever you feel like you need to get rid of some stress.

Method 3: Get A Pet

Getting a pet like a dog or a cat can be great at reducing stress. All kinds of research has been done showing that people that have pets tend to experience less stress in their lives. A dog is probably the best choice as they seem to always be happy to see you so they are a great form of receiving unconditional love which is great for relieving stress and forgetting about any stressful events during your day either at work or elsewhere.

Method 4: Laugh More Often

Make sure you are laughing regularly throughout the day. Read funny books or watch a lot of your favorite comedy shows. Laughter can be a great way to reduce stress and give you other significant health benefits too so do not lose your sense of humor. Get rid of as much stress from your life as you can in order to help you reduce the amount of acne you have.
