Baby Showers:

"Daddy's shower" refers to a men-only shower for the dad-to-be. It is a popular tradition in the United States and in other cultures influenced by American culture or media. Among Hindus in India, religious rituals resembling modern baby showers are held during the seventh month of pregnancy.

As well as gifts, another focus of a baby shower is to play games and party. There will often be things to eat and drink as well so it can become quite a social event. The men usually give the daddy-to-be diapers only because the mommy-to-be is getting other items at the shower. In the United Kingdom and France, baby showers are a new phenomenon, recently imported from the United States.

Here are some available baby shower games:

- Guess who's toy: One of the child's toy is placed in a bad and the guests have to feel inside the bag to guess the object and the owner.

- The fastest drinker: Give a small amount of drink in a bottle to each baby and see who can finish it first.

- Diaper throwing game, and the diapers have candies or chocolate stuff.

Toys/Gift ideas and Toy info:

Sometimes intended as decorations, keepsakes, or collectables for older children and adults, most dolls are intended as toys for children, usually girls, to play with. Toys with small pieces, such as these Lego, elements are required by law to have warnings about choking hazards in some countries. Construction sets such as Lego bricks and Lincoln Logs are designed for slightly older children and have been quite popular in the last century.

Toys for infants often make use of distinctive sounds, bright colors, and unique textures. Toys like cone cows have been displaced by toys like Little People, which can be bought with farm animals and ready-made fences. Toys are usually associated with children and pets, but it is not unusual for adult humans and some non-domesticated animals to play with toys.

Baby details and information

The umbilical cord of a newborn is bluish-white in color. Newborn infants have unremarkable vision, being able to focus on objects only about 18 inches (45 cm) directly in front of their face. Babies are traditionally called "toddlers" when they start to walk, whether or not they have reached this age.

The doctor will examine the baby and ask about the symptoms to help exclude any other disorders that may be causing the crying. Daycare centers with an "infant room" often call all children in it "infants" even if they are older than a year and/or walking; they sometimes use the term "walking infant". Occasionally, hospitals may apply triple dye to the umbilical stub to prevent infection, which may temporarily color the stub and surrounding skin purple.
